Revered by many as the live music capital of the Southeast, Athens remains a diamond city in the rough, with over 400 bands and growing.

The Athens' Songwriter and Lyricist Guild was founded in the hopes of bringing together a community of like-minded artists with diverse backgrounds in support of creative original music. The guild is an association of serious song craftsmen. Together, we gain knowledge from one another while passing down the tradition to those willing to listen and learn.

Each song has its own hidden secrets, its own laws which govern itself, its own roots which must be nurtured, its own life which we must help serve.
